I am now well rested (as much as I can be at this point) and my work week is finished! Yes, normally I only get a 1 day weekend. It can be rough sometimes.
As I’m sure you already know… it’s strawberry season… Yay! I have always been excited for strawberry season because they are so delicious and it marks the beginning of summer (at least in my eyes). However, almost everything made in the bakery has to do with strawberries in some way or another. What does that mean for us exactly? We need to clean and cut them all! Yikes… I am in no way comparing this to plum season (coming soon!) because it is no where near as time consuming and difficult as that, but let’s just say that preparing 150 kilos of strawberries is a daunting task. No matter how many strawberries we need to prepare, though, they are still and ALWAYS delicious!
Since I can’t take pictures myself in the bakery, and you’d like to check out some pictures of some of the products made in the bakery, go here. These are our Torte, A.K.A. cake. Don’t they all look phenomenal? You may also want to check out the home page of the website… Recognize anyone?
Monday starts my 3 weeks of school. I’m definitely ready for the change up… and it’ll be a lot better with this great weather we’re having!
On another note… Dublin is only a month away! I think it’s time to get my plans sorted out about where to stay and what to do, Ahem Christina…
… any suggestions from those who have been there before?
The people I’m going with have already nixed my couch surfing idea from Couchsurfing.org. I know, I know… it seems a bit sketchy, but when you really think about it and check out the site it’s a great idea and is legit! I swear! We will see, I guess that just leaves a Hostel?
