I want to talk a little bit about change. Whatever happened to wanting to mix things up a bit?
I know I’m guilty of this at times. I try really hard not to be, and have to keep reminding myself to snap out of it! Becoming afraid of change and learning something new can be scary, it can be nerve-racking, and it is not always easy.
Falling into routine can be a good thing at times, but in the long run, I believe, a bad thing. Sticking to the “rules” and following the “routine” just for the sake of doing it, is not always the best option. Mix it up! Why is it people are sometimes so afraid of doing something different? I know I don’t want to do the same thing everyday for the rest of my life and there’s only one way to change that, and that’s by switching it up. Why does it matter if everything doesn’t fall perfectly into place, or the day doesn’t run in the same smooth fashion? Different, makes life interesting. Change, makes life interesting.
Recently, I’ve been hearing the excuses, “We don’t have time,” or “I don’t know how,” or “I don’t feel like it.”
I refuse to see these as enough reasons not to try. Whatever happened to the word, “try?” Did that word just fall off the earth completely? Where is the harm in trying?
Sometimes it’s good to take a step back and look around. My advice is not to become stuck in a routine just because it’s easy and it works. In my opinion you’ll end up feeling unsatisfied. I know I would.
