This past Wednesday was called Niklaus in Germany. Did you ever hear of a holiday where you leave your shoes out overnight and wake up to find them filled with gifts? This is Niklaus!
St. Niklaus is not very common in the U.S., but it is celebrated all over Germany.
Wednesday morning I woke up with a wonderful surprise outside my door!
My neighbor St. Niklaus left delicious chocolates for me overnight. It’s really nice to getting unexpected surprises like that from people you don’t know so well. It makes you think that other people do really care and are thinking about someone else other than themselves.
Don’t forget that even very small good deeds make a difference and can change someone’s whole day.
In return, I did what I do best! I baked for them…
Pumpkin Gingerbread Biscotti
I was looking for something Christmassy, but also with pumpkin because I have a few cans leftover from Thanksgiving. I stumbled upon this recipe and thought it couldn’t be more perfect because the ingredients are simple and it’s a breeze to make!
