A good friend and collegue of mine came to me with a great idea…
As a previously trained chef, she asked if I did savory food on my blog and if so, could we do something together and then post it up on the blog?!
She said she would buy a basket of ingredients (all of which would be a surprise for me), bring it over and we would create and cook a dish together.
Perfect! What a great idea!
I’ll buy the wine! And the rest is history…
Here’s what happened:
- Ahi tuna, coated with sesame seeds
- Seared scallops
- Red beets (don’t judge… absolutely delicious!)
- Salad with passion fruit dressing
- Baked sweet potato fries
- …and as deco, baked parmesan
What?! Now that just sounds like heaven! I would never have come up with this dish myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love to cook for myself, friends and family, but I don’t have that professional edge that trained chefs have in the kitchen. Now here, is where my very talened friend and collegue came into play!
I urge you to do this with a close friend of yours! What could be more fun than spending a Friday night cooking, creating and, of course, drinking some wine?! I can’t think of one thing…
I’m going on vacay!! I’ll be away for a little over a week on vacation cruising my way around the Canary Islands! I couldn’t be more excited! I’m ready to get out of this winter weather and into a little sun!
That means, I’ll be on hiatus status for a little bit. Bear with me, I’m sure I’ll come back with some great stories and great food to share!
