Yes, I mean French macarons. Why are these little things so stinkin’ hard?!
They are fussy little buggers, but they are just absolutely delicious and adorable when they finally come out right. There are so many “tips,” and “tricks” out there when it comes to macarons and it’s hard to tell which ones actually work or not.
I’m a fan of, and honestly always have been, of not following the directions one to one. This is sometimes a problem (at work and at home) because I tend to go off the beaten path. This is also a problem with macarons because if you don’t follow the directions step by step, they probably won’t come out right.
I’m definitely a “winger” (A.K.A. I like to “wing-it”) and I have to say if you’re a “winger” too, just shut that down for a second so you can make macarons and then turn it back on because, let’s face it, being a “winger” is kinda awesome.
So, did my macarons come out perfect?
No way, where’s the fun in perfection? But it doesn’t matter because they were scrumptious!
