Can you tell I’ve been a little busy? I apologize… I know we’re all busy with a little thing called life, but that’s the reason for my absence… and I’m sorry!
As you all know I started my new job with, Rittergut Valenbrook. I did a little “Check-in” post on my new employer and job… I’m so excited! So basically being exhausted from the first two weeks of work is a good thing! I just need to feel the “kwan.”
For those of you who don’t know:
One-ness; A word that is a level up from swag. Strength, Power, good sense, stlye and ability. The term is mostly used as a definite article “The Kwan” than just Kwan.
Outside of work I was busy with THIS! I attended a beautiful wedding this past weekend aaaaand was lucky enough to provide the cake! I love the simple, sleek design the bride picked out! Plus, the flavors chosen were perfect…
Bottom: Chocolate mousse
Middle: Raspberry mousse
Top: Passion fruit mousse
Typically, the wedding cake gets forgotton about at weddings and doesn’t get eaten much…. However, this time I was so happy to see that just about the whole cake was eaten!!! As a pastry chef there’s nothing better to see your creations get devoured… That’s what they’re there for and that’s why you make them! Cakes are not to be looked at… they’re meant to be eaten… don’t forget that.
In case you might want to take on the big feat of making a wedding cake for yourself, I’m going to give you a few tips to keep in mind.
So what does it really take to make a wedding cake?
- Planning, planning, planning!
- The right tools
